Florida Fishing
Time for a little Florida Fishing in the beautiful Florida Keys.
Those of us that arrive from parts of the world that don't have access the oceans, may find it a bit difficult to comprehend the variety of species that you might catch while fishing from a pier, surf-casting, from a small outboard equipped boat, or a deep-water fishing machine.
I've caught Walleye, Pike, Bass, Muskellunge, Crappie, Rock Bass, Perch, Sunfish, Lake Trout...most of the gamefish that are available in the fresh waters of North America. If you stop to think about it, there's not too many.
Now cast your line into the ocean off the Florida Keys. The potential is there for you to catch dozens of species of fish, from a Pinfish a few inches in length to a Shark measured in yards.
In just a couple of hours in a small boat off Cudjoe Key we caught the mess of "pan fryers" you see pictured above. The photo can't tell you that three of us caught and released well over 100 fish in that time frame, keeping these few to feed our families.
Can you identify the Red Snapper, Porgy, Mackerel and Grunts in the photo?
Never fear if you can't yet. This website will help.
We'll start out with a list of issues dealing with fishing the Florida Keys. Each of the issues will ultimately be a link to a page of information on that subject.
